Your opportunity to vote for NJEA’s leaders begins today.
All mail ballots must be postmarked and received at the address noted on the ballot envelope by Friday, April 14 at noon. Electronic balloting also ends at noon on April 14. (Do NOT send ballots to NJEA; send them to the address noted on the ballot envelope.)
Up for election are the positions of NJEA president, NJEA secretary-treasurer, and representatives to the NJEA Executive Committee, NJEA Delegate Assembly, and NEA Representative Assembly. Positions for NJEA Delegate Assembly-Alternates are also on the ballot.
There are two candidates running for NJEA president and four candidates running for NJEA secretary-treasurer. You will find statements from the candidates, statements from their supporters, and background information about each candidate here.
If you did not indicate your preference to vote online by March 1, you should have received a ballot by postal mail. However, you may still opt to vote online.
To vote online, go to njea.org/njea-elections. You will need to sign in to access the page using your PIN and password.
• Your PIN is the email address through which you received this email. You may also use your six-character membership ID number as your PIN, which is found on your membership card (two letters, two numerals, two letters).
• Your password is the last four digits of your Social Security number, unless you have changed your password.
• Once you are signed in and have gone to njea.org/njea-elections, you will find a link to vote online.
If you vote online, destroy your paper ballot if you received one. If you attempt to vote by postal mail and electronically, the ballot that is received first by NJEA is the one that will be counted. Each ballot has a unique code to ensure that only one ballot will be counted for each member, while protecting the secret ballot.
Remember: All mail ballots must be postmarked and received at the address noted on the ballot envelope by Friday, April 14, 2017, at noon. Electronic balloting also ends at noon on April 14.
