Archives for September 2016
On Monday September 19, 2016 the Assemble Education Committee released a bill A-4122 sponsored by Marlene Caride (D-36) which would eliminate standardized test scores for students as a measure of teacher evaluation in tested subject areas.
We need to let the Assembly know how important this bill is to us. Click the following link to send a message to the Assembly asking them to co-sponsor this bill and stand up for equity and fairness for educators across the state.

This summer hundreds of dedicated NJEA members from across the state (including members of our own CREA) signed up and worked as pension fellows in one of the largest labor organization movements in recent state history. Over the course of eight weeks, fellowship members have made over 137,000 phone calls, knocked on over 5,200 doors, and wrote over 4,800 postcards to inform the public and garner support to stand against Governor Christie, Senate President Sweeney and others who have blatantly attacked public workers. Additionally, fellows have lobbied the Capitol building in Trenton and rallied in Bordentown, West Deptford and Trenton.
